Savory vegetable pancakes
Savory pancakes are one of the greatest foods on earth - the proof is in how many different cuisines have their own versions of savory pancakes. They are incredibly versatile and usually you can throw them together with ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen. These savory vegetable pancakes are a vague fusion of Korean yachaejeon and Jewish potato latkes. I was inspired to make a vegetable pancake from this tiktok and because I had a lot of vegetable scraps

Homemade Sheet Pan Pizza
As everyone should know by now, I rival Barb Kellner when it comes to pizza eating. That means that while we love ordering pizza from some of our favorite local spots (Pizzeria Lola, Hello Pizza, Red Wagon Pizza, Broder's, and Pizza Luce), I also make a lot of homemade pizza. There are two main pizza styles I made: cast iron skillet pizza and sheet pan pizza. (I'll share the cast iron method eventually!) Savory Cupcakes
What birthday treat do you make for a friend who doesn't have a sweet tooth? Savory cupcakes of course! Are these just really fancy cornbread muffins? Perhaps. Are they incredibly delicious? Demi, Minneapolis
To celebrate being fully vaccinated, we joined two friends for dinner at Demi, a tasting menu restaurant in downtown Minneapolis from Chef Gavin Kaysen. The food and experience were both amazing. I found it particularly cool that the seats are all in a U shape around an open kitchen, so we could watch the chefs preparing and plating each course. The chefs also do double-duty as servers, so they explain each dish as it arrives. (I even got some homemade ice cream making tips f

#TBT Whole Foods, Where "Smoothie" is a Verb
I've had various food blogs over the years, and some of what I wrote on previous blogs was a) hilarious or b) good information. To avoid losing all that to the abyss of the internet, I'm sharing some #tbt posts on Fare by Clare. This was originally posted on November 14, 2014. Since that time, Whole Foods was acquired by Amazon. Thus, I no longer endorse shopping at Whole Foods but I do still thoroughly endorse making fun of Whole Foods. Whole Foods, or Whole Paycheck as it i

Triple Citrus Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
While I love modifying recipes (and in fact nearly never follow a recipe exactly), it's more complicated to modify baked goods. A good cake depends on a lot of specific chemical reactions, and if you mess with the recipe too much you run the risk of ruining some of that science. That said, modifying recipes for baked goods is possible. (Even if you, like me, did not particularly enjoy high school chemistry class.) Having a good understanding of how to modify baking recipes is
